Office Posture / Ergonomic Advice

For any healthy and well functioning individual at workplace, it is very important that his/her body is well adapted to the workplace. Something as simple as a bad office posture can lead to a lot of pain & Musculoskeletal disorders over time. These disorders can affect the muscles, nerves, blood vessels, ligaments and tendons. Ergonomic advice guides one with the demands imposed on an individual’s body at the workplace and how to cope with it.

At Vivacare Advanced Physiotherapy & Pain Clinic, our physiotherapists will do a detailed assessment of your physical function and how your body interacts with your work environment. You will be given advice on:

  • Correct trunk posture that can improve your spine, head and neck alignment that results in less fatigue when sitting at a desk for prolonged periods of time. Often a simple product will assist you in correct positioning & good office posture.

Repetitive strain injuries, such as carpal tunnel syndrome and tennis elbow, have also been attributed to excessive use of a computer. Typically, these pain syndromes are often triggered by specific movements done repeatedly without giving adequate rest of the affected joint.
